Perforce Software Announces Partnership to Extend Asia/Pacific Presence to South Korea

Alameda, Calif. (PRWEB) November 13, 2008 -- Perforce Software, maker of the award-winning Perforce Software Configuration Management (http://www.perforce.com/) (SCM) system, today announced a strategic partnership with MOU Interactive, a South Korean software consulting company. MOU Interactive initially plans to target South Korean games and financial services companies.

This partnership is another step toward increasing Perforce Software's presence in the Asia/Pacific region. Last year, Perforce opened a new office in Sydney to provide better support for its existing customers in Australia, Japan, India and China.

MOU Interactive chooses Perforce to replace ClearCase

Rebecca Park, in charge of the SCM division at MOU Interactive, explained why they switched from ClearCase to Perforce as their SCM solution for the Korean market:

"While the SCM market in Korea increases every year, the problem has been that commercial SCM implementation has been very costly until now. For this reason, many customers have opted for open source solutions, only to find in the end that these solutions cost more, due to their lack of technical support."

Park said customers have been obliged to purchase expensive SCM solutions like IBM Rational ClearCase or PVCS. "These solutions are not only costly, but are difficult to deploy and take a long time to implement. Moreover, our customers complained about the difficulties using those SCM systems in distributed development (http://www.perforce.com/perforce/products/p4p.html) environments."

In addition to wanting a cost-effective SCM solution, Park said, MOU Interactive's games and financial services customers require SCM that easily scales to handle distributed development. "Perforce's distributed technology solution, its ability to run on a wide variety of platforms and its flexibility to integrate with numerous third party tools make it ideal for our Korean clients."
